The HiPurA® process is a patented, mine-free pathway to ultra-pure alumina (HPA), engineered for precision industries that demand performance without compromise.

Rather than relying on aluminium metal, we use a streamlined, scalable chemical process – enabling cleaner production, faster rollout, and greater supply chain flexibility.

What Makes HiPurA® Different

No mining. No metal. No legacy constraints.

The HiPurA® process uses widely available industrial feedstocks – such as aluminium sulphate – avoiding the need for energy-heavy aluminium metal refining. This results in:

  • Lower energy intensity
  • A smaller carbon footprint
  • Faster approvals and deployment
  • More consistent input quality

Unlike incumbent methods, which degrade high-purity aluminium back to alumina via alkoxide routes, HiPurA® starts with simpler materials and applies an optimised purification process that runs close to ambient temperature and pressure.

Feedstock Flexibility

HiPurA® is not locked into a single supply source. It can use a range of alumina bearing feedstocks, including:

  • Aluminous chemicals
  • Industrial waste material containing high levels of alumina
  • Potentially aluminous mined material

The driver is the commercial impact from using each material and the security of supply.

Scalable by Design

Our process is designed from the ground up to be modular and repeatable. That means commercial plants can be built faster, closer to customers, and scaled as demand grows.

Combined with our in-house analytical laboratory, we can iterate faster and ensure tight quality control throughout the optimisation and production process.

Product Versatility

The HiPurA® platform can produce a range of high-purity materials:

  • 4N and 5N High Purity Alumina
  • High-purity boehmite
  • Aluminium sulphate
  • Aluminium nitrate

This multi-product capability enhances commercial viability and opens access to multiple supply chains.
